Tour Divide 2013 - Race Scouts, Final Prep and Bike Set-ups

Thanks to James Kirwan and Billy Rice for setting their ITT's just before the Grand Depart.  Valuable knowledge from those scouting the route for the rest of us and calling in to share.  James called it quits in Whitefish :( but hopefully will be back to conquer it in the future. He did say that the snow in Canada wasn't too bad though Red Meadow Lake Pass was deep snow for several miles.  Hope that less snow on the Canadian passes mean a faster start from last year.  Hopefully it will be dryer as well.  Haven't heard to much on course conditions from Billy though he did say that wind has been a constant theme.  Good info but everything always changes, so I will still expect the worst and hope for the best.

I think I am ready.  My body feels good and if I get my last few rides in this week I will feel confident.  Bike is ready except for  a few minor changes like adding bar tape.  Gear is set except for rain pants, and my backpack I ordered from the store 2 months ago, didn't come with the order yesterday but luckily fellow racer Nick Legan is picking one up for me at REI in boulder and bringing it up to Banff with him. Awesome! Thanks Nick.  Just need to convert some currency, and pick up an sd card for the GoPro.  See you all in Banff, and I look forward to having dinner with a bunch of you Wednesday night.
Video is bike set-ups from last years race.
